Youngdahl Consulting Group, Inc., has an opening for a Project Geologist. Youngdahl is a full-service geotechnical consulting firm providing services for earthwork construction, materials testing, geotechnical engineering and design, and environmental geology. This position is located at our office in El Dorado Hills and is not a hybrid or remote position.

The required qualifications include:

​

• B.A. or B.S. in Geology/Earth Science

• Strong technical writing skills

• PG licensure required with desire to obtain CEG licensure

• Strong interpersonal, organizational and written/verbal English communication skills

• Willingness to perform subsurface investigations and field work as required

• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment

• HAZWOPER 40-Hour certified or ability to obtain certification

• Support of geotechnical engineering services

• Ability to learn detailed Federal, State, and local regulations/codes

• Ability to walk long distances for extended periods (i.e., geologic mapping)

• Good field rock identification skills

• Prepare proposals, scopes of work and budgets for new projects

• Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Reports, manage environmental remediation projects

• Willingness to learn advanced environmental geology, rock mechanics, hydrogeology, geological hazards assessments, and more
