Lakeview Elementary School
Youngdahl Consulting Group, Inc. has performed a full range of services for the construction of a new elementary school in the Rescue Union School District.
The project consisted of four concrete masonry unit single-story buildings, with a soccer field, baseball courts, and associated site improvements and pavements. The site was an undeveloped parcel of land roughly 10 acres in size.
We initially performed an Environmental Assessment of the school site, followed by a Geotechnical Engineering Study for the project. Our findings indicated the site was generally suitable for construction. We provided recommendations for shallow foundations and site preparation, including drainage of near surface groundwater to make the site suitable for mass grading.
Lakeview Elementary School is a new school in the Rescue Elementary School District. Lakeview was one of the first schools in California to have an asbestos mitigation completed. The work performed at Lakeview has set the standards for the rest of California for building schools on environmentally challenged sites.
Youngdahl Consulting Group, Inc. performed a detailed geotechnical study in conjunction with a Geologic Hazard Assessment for the Rescue Union School District. We also completed a Naturally Occurring Asbestos Assessment of the school site, prepared a Removal Action Workplan (RAW), prepared an Operations and Maintenance Plan, and a Removal Action Completion Plan (RACR) for the subject property. We provided on-going Quality Assurance services during construction and remediation of the naturally occurring asbestos encountered at the site.
